William HARPER was born in 1829, the son of John and Lydia HARPER of Barrington in the County of Cambridge, England, being baptised on 14th day of February 1830. William was a well built, good looking man, short of stature, with the English colouring of Fair Hair and blue eyes. William married Sarah Ann JUDE, born to Jonathon JUDE and his wife of Barrington, in the County of Cambridge, England on the 31st day of March 1831. Sarah Ann was small boned, with petite features, a pointy elfin chin, dark hair and dark brown eyes. William and Sarah married at the Parish Church in the Parish of Barrington, Cambridgeshire on the 11th day of February 1849 in the presence of James AUSTIN and Lydia HARPER.
